St Josephs Ballybunion defeated Comeragh College by 3-10 to 3-5 in the 2025/2026 TUS Corn Coilm Uí Chiardhubháin (Under 17 E Football) Final on Monday November 17th at the University of Limerick North Campus.

On a sunny November afternoon, the final of the Under 17 Corn Coilm Uí Chiardhubháin took place in UL North Campus GAA grounds.

The match started at a blistering pace with both teams getting on the scoreboard after just a couple of minutes. Cal Fitzsimmons and Liam Lynch put in a huge shift at midfield for St Josephs of Ballybunion, who were playing into a blinding sun in the first half. The seasiders kept the score board ticking over throughout the first half with six different scorers and with just one minute to half-time St Josephs kicked an impressive 1-1 to go into the break seven points up. Brody Mulvihill (St Josephs Captain and full forward) was constantly a thorn for the Comeragh defence and finished the match with an impressive 2-5.

The second half was hotly contested with Comeragh College of Carrick-on-Suir constantly putting pressure on Ballybunion, but the St Josephs defence stood strong and had some huge dispossessions. Dylan Mcsherry, Daniel Roche and Cathal Daly in the St Josephs half back line worked tirelessly and turned over a huge amount of ball. With Fitzsimmons now dominating midfield, the supply of ball was hitting all the Ballybunion forwards. Max Ryan and Evan Murphy on the two wings for Ballybunion did trojan work and with five minutes to go, Ballybunion were now sitting comfortably on an 11 point lead. But Comeragh College never stopped pressing and managed to pull back too late goals to leave the final score 3-10 to 3-5.

St Josephs captain Brody Mulvihill accepted the trophy on behalf of his team.
